The collection consists of the [Carlene Harmon–home movies], made with a hand-held VHS camera. The videotapes, entitled “Family and Museum” include amateur footage of Harmon family members and of the East Orland Museum of Collectibles. The footage of the private museum represents informal documentation of local efforts to preserve history and documents the preservation effort.

Biographical/Historical Notes:
Carlene Harmon was born on December 10, 1943 in Brewer, Maine, the daughter of Carl and Katie Powers. A graduate of the University of Maine, Harmon would go on to work as Director of Information Services at Bangor Hydro-Electric Co., as well as working as a consultant and fitness instructor. She was active with many professional and community organizations, including serving as president of the Pine Tree Chapter of the Data Processing Management Association. She was married to Wayne Harmon, and together they had one son, Michael. Carlene Harmon passed away on July 17, 2008.The East Orland Museum was founded by Carlene Harmon's father, Carl E. Powers. He is featured as a tour guide in the museum scenes. Carl E. Powers was born on December 1, 1913 and died on July 25, 1997.
